Tips on Traveling Staying Safe while on Vacation

With the summer travel season on the way, keep in mind these simple vacation safety ideas.

  • Don’t leave your valuables laying out in your hotel room. Either lock them in your room safe or place them in your suitcase (if it locks) or take them with you.
  • Don’t wear a lot of expensive items that may make you a target. Also, make sure that everything you have on is safe and secure to yourself.
  • Don’t carry a bulky bag. Instead use a small purse or bag that you can carry on your shoulder and hold onto securely.
  • Avoid placing money or your cell phone and other valuables in your back pockets. Front pockets are always the safest
  • Don’t go off alone; traveling in a pair or group is much safer.
  • Research your travel destination before you leave. Check the crime rate for areas which are the most dangerous.
